No less than 300 prophecies contained in the Old Testament of the Bible have been accounted for that relate to the first coming of Jesus Christ, The Messiah!

George Heron, a French mathematician, calculated that the odds of one man fulfilling just 40 of those prophecies are 1 in 10 to the power of 157. That is 1 in a number of 1 followed by 157 zeros! Jesus fulfilled every single Old Testament prophecy written hundreds of years before his birth absolutely perfectly! Let's look at just a few of them:

Old Testament Prophecy: Numbers 24:17 "I see him, but not now; I behold him, but not near. A star will come out of Jacob; a scepter will rise out of Israel. He will crush the foreheads of Moab, the skulls of all the sons of Sheth.

New Testament Fulfilment in Jesus: Luke 3:34 "The son of Jacob, the son of Isaac, the son of Abraham, the son of Terah, the son of Nahor."

Old Testament Prophecy: Genesis 49:10 "The scepter will not depart from Judah, nor the ruler's staff from between his feet, until he comes to whom it belongs and the obedience of the nations is his."

New Testament Fulfilment in Jesus: Luke 3:33 "The son of Amminadab, the son of Ram, the son of Hezron, the son of Perez, the son of Judah."

Old Testament Prophecy: Isaiah 9:7 "Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David's throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this."

New Testament Fulfilment In Jesus Luke 1:32-33: "He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever; his kingdom will never end."

Old Testament Prophecy: Micah 5:2 "But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from ancient times."

New Testament Fulfilment in Jesus: Matthew 2 verse 1 "After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem."

Old Testament Prophecy: Judges 13:5 "for the child shall be a Nazarite unto God"

New Testament Fulfilment in Jesus: Matthew 2:23 "And he came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets, He shall be called a Nazarene."

Old Testament Prophecy: Zechariah 9:9 "Rejoice greatly, O Daughter of Zion! Shout, Daughter of Jerusalem! See, your king comes to you, righteous and having salvation, gentle and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.

New Testament Fulfilment in Jesus: John 12:13-14 "They took palm branches and went out to meet him, shouting, "Hosanna!" "Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!" "Blessed is the King of Israel!" Jesus found a young donkey and sat upon it, as it is written."

Additionally, Jesus Himself prophecied His own death and resurrection, further demonstrating His divinity!

John 2: 19-21: "Jesus answered and said unto them, 'Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.'

Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days?

But He spake of the temple of his body."

Luke 18 31-34: "Then he took unto him the twelve, and said unto them, "Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of man shall be accomplished.

For he shall be delivered unto the Gentiles, and shall be mocked, and spitefully entreated, and spitted on:

And they shall scourge him, and put him to death: and the third day he shall rise again.'

And they understood none of these things: and this saying was hid from them, neither knew they the things which were spoken."

God gave up His only Son for you and I to have life eternal. The overwhelming evidence of who Jesus is leaves us without excuse if we choose to reject God's gift of pardon available to each one of us!
